Can you smell it? Spring is here! Seize this time, before perennials leaf out and annuals go in, to lay drip irrigation lines and soaker hoses. Prepare winter-weary lawns for the growing season—apply moss killers and fertilizer and overseed as needed. Add flowers to beds and overstuff containers for a dramatic look in full bloom.

- Deadhead bulb flowers
- Clear out dead or dying folliage
- Plant annuals and perennials in borders
- Harden off starts and seedlings before planting
- Provide support for peas, beans and other fast growers
- Set out irrigation lines while plants are small
- Add moss control and fertlizer to lawns
- Mow lawn more frequently
