UPDATE MARCH 26, 2020

Dear McLendon Hardware Customers,

Our team hopes you and your family are staying well. As a company, McLendon Hardware is committed to supporting the community during the current circumstances that all of us are facing during this unprecedented time.

On March 23, 2020, Governor Inslee issued an Executive Order directing all Washington residents to immediately heed current State public health directives to stay home, except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of essential critical infrastructure sectors and additional sectors as the State Public Health Officer may designate as critical to protect health and well-being of all Washingtonians.

In accordance with this order, the Governor has designated hardware businesses like McLendon Hardware as an essential business to the community. We are committed to continuing to serve our customers in a safe and responsible manner, both in our stores and through our curbside service and delivery.

We think it's important to keep you informed of the measures we're taking to ensure the health of both our customers and our 450+ team members. All decisions we're making are being guided by the CDC and local health authorities in Washington state.

Along with enhanced sanitation measures and social distancing practices in stores, here are the most recent operational changes we want you to be aware of:

  • We have adjusted our hours to give our team members more time to restock shelves, sanitize our stores and rest in preparation for the next day. Until further notice our stores will now be open 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Sunday.
  • For the safety of our community, all of our events have been postponed for the foreseeable future. This includes Kid's Clinics, How to Clinics, Pancake Breakfast and any other previously scheduled in store events. Our team is hard at work to find new ways to present some of these project and product knowledge events online through social media and our website.
  • We're also hard at work developing a modified version of our upcoming May Anniversary Sale. As a loyal customer, you know how much McLendon's loves Spring. We plan to offer some of the same products and items you love during the same time period, we will just find new ways to safely offer those items for purchase. All in-store events tied to this promotion have been cancelled until further notice.
  • We have assigned Social Distancing Managers at each location to handle the safety and cleanliness of the location. This individual will also ensure safe customer flows throughout the location and be available to assist customers with shopping. We will consistently update store layouts and fixtures to accomodate 6 feet of space for customers to shop comfortably.

If you've shopped our stores in recent weeks, you've experienced our Team Members' dedication and diligence to serving our community safely during a time of uncertainty. In order to serve our Team Members, we are taking some additional steps to ensure their safety and well-being, both at work and outside of work:

  • Allowing all Team Members who need to take time off to care for themselves or family members the ability to do so through personal leaves
  • Requiring Team Members who are not necessary to maintain essential functions to work from home
  • Providing additional Personal Protective Equipment to our frontline Teams, such as cashiers
  • Enforcing social distancing at all of our locations to ensure that both customers and Team Members remain safe while in our stores
  • Providing regular communication to our Team Members about the latest developments, guidelines from the CDC, and operational changes being made to protect them
  • Restricting all non-essential travel between locations and requiring meetings to be held virtually whenever possible

Stay healthy and well,

The McLendon Hardware Team
