Loaded with spikes of delicate, bell-shaped flowers, winter-blooming heather adds a colorful contrast to fall- & winter-dormant flowerbeds. Also called heath, Irish heath or Scotch heather, these English moorland natives thrive in cold, dreary drizzle.
These boggy shrubs grow very well in our sour soil -heathers and heaths are acid aficionados. Hardy and drought resistant, plant these in full sun, partial sun or partial shade. Little, if any, fertilizing is needed -if you do, do so in the spring.
Cool weather intensifies evergreen foliage, while it continuously blooms into spring.
