You’ve found the fir that never was! Pseudotsuga may mean “false hemlock,” but truthfully Doug firs are a longtime Northwest favorite. With its full, symmetrical shape, true-green needles and sweet fragrance, it’s the most economical Christmas treeat McLendon’s.

TREE TIDBIT: Despite its thousand-year life span in a forest, Doug firs rarely grow taller than 350 feet. That’s because it can’t draw water beyond that height, according to researchers at Oregon State University.
